Review - Nokia N97 Smartphone

Last week I decided it's about time I upgraded my mobile phone, So off I went to my favourite phone shop, and spent little time window shopping before deciding upon my next model. My Nokia N97 is a S60 5th Edition mobile computer with a large 3,5“, bright nHD (640 x 360 pixels and 16:9 aspect ratio) TFT 16 bit high colour display with resistive touch screen and tactile feedback (it vibrates when you touch it). What I find most useful is the qwerty keyboard that I can still use even with shovel-like hands, and with touch screen makes my N97 ideal for my frequent web surfing. Besides having a fairly fast web service with T-Mobile web'n'walk the N97 can connect to mobile broadband using WLAN or HSDPA (3.5G). Meaning it makes good use of my in-home wireless broadband at 24mbps! yummy! I liked the map service that is on the N95 that my wife has, but think the map service on the N97 finds directions and locations much faster with the integrated A-GPS and included maps. My old phone, a Nokia N73 had a nice 3Mpixel camera, but as with many smart phones the camera suffered allot of lag between taking the picture and what you actually got once the camera caught up, making candid shots almost impossible. Now for once the N97's camera takes almost instant images even at the full 5Mpixal setting. The video capture seems allot faster too with much less of that jerky imagery you've come to expect from camera phones, almost comparing to a home digital camcorder in output quality. I love the fact that not only can you finally plug in any of your favourite 3.5mm plug stereo headphones into it but the socket also doubles up as video out too. Lastly what impresses me the most, is the sheer capacity of the phone, with 32mb internal RAM

SD card slot upto 16Gb removable micro SD card. I could waffle on all day about the fantastic Nokia 'Flagship' N97 handset, but that would leave me no time to play with it! Here's a short list of some other features and software I have installed: 20 preset FM radio with RDS

I don't have a cell phone, Anthony. They change them so fast, I can't keep up with all this new stuff. Must be a generation gap or something.
