Recover your lost/stolen iPod
By Puniksem Qassia of Puniksem.com
In order to report your iPod stolen with the police, Apple and a website site registry, you’ll need the serial number. If you did not write it don’t worry, you can find the serial number in your itunes software. Open up iTunes and go to HELP… then Run Diagnostic… then iPod Diagnostics. Look for the “last connected iPod serial number”. There will be about 11 digits that are the serial number. Get those numbers listed on an internet registry. If anyone runs the number in a search engine like Google, they will know the iPod is stolen. Quoted from: stolenipod.com Puniksem.com have produced a small but effective FREE utility that will help in the recovery of your lost or stolen ipod/iphone. This utility does rely on the fact that the ipod must at some point connect to the internet, however resetting the ipod will not remove this utility, so if a person finds your ipod and connects it to their computer, the utility will immediately notify you of its current IP location. Created with an easy to setup interface, and takes only a couple of minutes to install onto your iPod with full instructions enclosed, it couldn't be easier to add that extra layer of protection. I have an 80Gb video iPod which has more than 9000+ song titles and hundreds of treasured converted vinyl LP's on it, plus 3000+ priceless photos. So I can honestly say I would not want to lose my iPod. It's this desire to keep my treasured collection, so anything that increases ones chances of it's safe return is a bonus in my eyes.
