Grandparents This year at the grand old age of 45 my sweetheart daughter is making me a grandad, whatever that might entail. For many years as a child, I missed having my own grandparents around, and I suppose along with that went learning the role of being a grandparent too. so now the time has come, the unknown has become a scary thought. I have come to learn though that being a grandparent is such a vital role. some families simply couldn't function without the support of grandparents, yet so often this role is undervalued. Sometimes helping with the grandchildren can in the long term inadvertantly affect your relationships with your children and their spouse. I do look forward to being a grandfather to what I now know to be my granddaughter. God!
