10 Step - First Time eBay sellers guide.
By Ctek Solutions of www.ctek-solutions.co.uk
There are two different ways to sell an item on eBay. • eBay recently introduced a step by step wizard • And the original advanced menu HTML layout. Both have their separate advantages and disadvantages. The easy wizard is great for first time users to post a simple text based advert with the addition of your pictures to enhance your sale chances. Here's a few simple steps to preparing for making your first eBay auction advert. 1. The first step is to acquire or capture your item images and transfer them to your computer if from camera. 2. Open a new selling page once signed into eBay, and choose the easy wizard, then select an appropriate category for your item/s. 3. Then you will need to think of a short but relevant title (description) for your item. 4. You can then upload one free image to be placed in your auction advert and £0.12p therafter per image. Uploading your image is easy, just select the upload image button and point the browser toward your saved image/s. then click upload once selected. 5. You now need to set a price for your item, a low starting price helps to get early bidding interest. Alternatively you can set a fixed price for the item which is not the same as an open auction. You will also be charged more eBay commission on a fixed price sale. 6. If you think your item is worth more than £50 set a minimum reserve for the auction starting price. (This will raise the eBay commission price) and may however result in less overall bids and active interest. 7. The next step involves adding details for delivery costs and postage of the sale item. Weigh your item and establish what it would cost to send depending on the delivery type (Parcel force etc), including packaging and possible insurance costs. 8. Lastly you will want to leave a message for bidders with information about the auction/sale, perhaps including something like the below example. 9. Seller's payment instructions This purchase is listed for UK & International paypal account holders, no cash cheques or postal orders accepted. Full payment must be received no later than 7 (seven) days after auction closure. Failure to comply WILL result in the item/s being re-listed and NON-PAYERS being reported to eBay. Please leave feedback on a successful auction purchase, this helps potential buyers make an informed decision. 10. Now all you have to do is review your auction in a preview window, checking closely that all your details, pricing and descriptions are correct. Then finally submit your item for auction.

Contributor's Note
You got to love eBay! however steer very clear of the not so cheap and often nasty sub-standard imports from China and Hong Kong, many memory cards, sticks & thumb drives are especially fake, even if the branding looks genuine!
